S&T Travel Guide: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Us West Coasters love a trip down south to Mexico. It’s a quick flight, reasonably priced, and always a party once you arrive. We took the boyfs and had the best couples trip the first week of December. So many of you were asking for recommendations, so wanted to share all the details.

FOOD
Sonora Grill Prime - unreal steakhouse, (seriously still salivating) we recommend getting the kilo of steak on a salt block.
El Dorado / La Palapa for fine dining on the sand located in actual Puerto Vallarta city. Perfect for a romantic sunset dinner!
Tintoque - LA restaurant vibe for Mexican food in the marina.
FITNESS
The Yogi Bar - yoga + healthy food (juices, smoothies, snacks)! Most of the hotels have gyms too or you can workout on the sand!
We also love a quick HIIT workout on vacay to squeeze in a good sweat without taking up too much relaxation time.
HOTELS
We stayed at Vidanta, which is a personal fav and Jo’s fam has a timeshare there.
Westin Puerto Vallarta is a great location (walk to marina) and reasonably priced.
There’s also very upscale resorts like the Four Seasons and St. Regis which are located in Punta Mita; a little farther away.
TRANSPORTATION
Taxi-ing from the airport to the hotel is always more expensive (like 3X) than the other way around. So it’s usually best if you plan ahead of time and schedule airport shuttle to hotel (to marina is about $18). Taxis are cheap overall though.
Uber is there, but didn’t work on our phones for some reason, so be prepared!
THINGS TO DO
Drink margaritas!
ATVing excursion (all day thing)
Massages on the beach for ~$40
Sea turtle releases
Jet ski
Visit Sayulita (little surf town)
Walk around old town.
DRINK MORE MARGARITAS!
TIPS:
Stay extra hydrated when you are in the sun all day + drinking, but be sure to only drink bottled H2O, double check that the ice is from filtered water (not really a concern at hotels)
The sun is SO strong so be very generous with sunscreen
Make sure your phone carrier allows you to “roam” in another country.
