Sweat and Tell in NYC

We are so excited to share with you guys our entire NYC itinerary! We planned as much as we could ahead of time which made things SO easy. We seriously had THE BEST trip of all time - full of adventure, incredible food/drinks, and the bestest of friends. Thanks to our friend, David Ko, for giving us an excuse to fly to the East Coast and guap out.

Disclaimer: We took cabs and Ubers everywhere we went (that we couldn’t walk to) so we can’t really provide any tips on public transportation/subway… Jo has claustrophobia issues lol

JET LAGGED BUT THRIVING - 4/18 THURSDAY

Morning

  • 7:45 am arrival at JFK

  • Breakfast at Jack’s Wife Frida (5/5) - we ordered the Lebanese grapefruit parfaits and poached eggs

  • Walked from SoHo to Times Square and Rockefeller Center (went to Top of the Rock)

Afternoon

  • Checked into hotel in SoHo - best area to stay in because you’re walking distance to a ton of restaurants, shops, studios, etc.

Evening

  • Dinner at Quality Meats (10/10!!!) literally one of the best meals ever. You know a restaurant is bomb when you can’t stop eating the free bread. Jacqs and Connor (Jo’s boyfriend) split a steak for two and Jo ordered the Salmon as an entree. We also order the gnocchi, brussel sprouts, tuna and crab.

  • Pregamed at our friend’s boujee hotel room at the Ludlow Hotel

  • The Box - Burlesque Club that is far beyond R rated. Almost feel guilty suggesting for you guys to go here but it is a SCENE. We’re talking naked dancers and performances throughout the night - obvi *not a place for families*

CYCLING THROUGH NYC - 4/19 FRIDAY

Morning

  • Breakfast at Sadelle’s (5/5) - we got everything bagels with cream cheese and a tower of lox (salmon) + coffees

  • 12:00 Soul Cycle class with Akin (read full review in the “Reviews” tab)

Afternoon

  • Walked through West Village and shopped at Second Chance - a consignment store that has all designer everything

  • Got back to hotel to shower and get ready for the rest of the day

  • Joe and the Juice for a snack - we got choco smoothies... and then decided we were still hungry… so we took a detour to get Joe’s Pizza

  • Rented bikes from Unlimited Biking and rode through Central Park

  • Stopped at the Boathouse to get Aperol Spritz

Evening

  • Got ready to go out for the night!

  • Dinner at Malaparte for a friends birthday - we ordered the pesto rigatonni and cacio e peppe gnocchi (this was delish but not authentic cacio e pepe)

  • Karaoke Bar

  • Wilfie and Nell’s

BOUJEE, BOTTOMLESS DAY - 4/20 SATURDAY

Morning

  • New York Pilates workout in the early AM

  • Cha Cha Matcha for post workout bevs - we ordered match lattes with almond milk and matcha banana bread

Afternoon

  • Bottomless brunch at Poco - this place is a VIBE; it has music BUMPING the second you walk in. We had bottomless mimosas and Bloody Mary’s with our brekky. Jo ordered guac benedict and Jacqs ordered lobster benedict. Both delish but heads up: the benedict doesn’t have english muffins as the base, its like a palenta thing

  • Day drank on our friends rooftop which was one of the highlights of our trip. Nothing says city life like chugging beers on an NYC rooftop with friends

  • House party in Brooklyn which was a scene. Also shoutout to the random person that gave Jo and contact with her exact prescription when hers fell out. Like wut are the odds.

Evening

  • Our local NY friend Alena purchased our entire group I<3NY shirts which we obvi rocked the rest of the night

  • Dinner at Puglia - nothing seen anything like this place before lol dancing on the table’s while drinking bottomless vino and italian food (we gave one of the shirts to our waiter too… he loved it)

  • We randomly got a limo???

  • Kept the party going at a friends apartment

  • Jacqs got drunchies at Joe’s pizza

LAST DAY IN THE CITY - 4/21 SUNDAY

Morning

  • Skipped our workout because we were hungover

  • Walked to breakfast at Bagels in the Square

Afternoon

  • 9/11 Memorial and museum (so sad but it’s a must)

  • Went to Financial District - saw the NYSE, Wall Street and the Bull

  • Battery park to see the Statue of Liberty from afar

  • Lunch at Jane’s in SoHo

Evening

  • Headed to the JFK airport for an evening departure - literally the entire car ride we were so nostalgic of the weekend and how much fun we had

Keep it Sweaty,

Jo and Jacqs
