Recipe: EASY TO MAKE brie & apple bites
My family loves to make brie and apple grilled cheese. Especially when the weather is chilly. So when I needed a quick recipe to please a crowd we thought why not make our favorite panini into an open faced crostini. It turned out better than delicious and was extremely easy to make. Who doesn’t love an easy recipe with minimal prep AND clean up?!
The perfect last minute appetizer that satisfies your sweet and savory craving. It only takes about twenty minutes total with prep and all.
INGREDIENTS
apples (I used pink lady)
french baguette
brie
olive oil or butter
hot honey or regular honey
optional herbs to top (I used rosemary)
optional candied nuts to top
fresh salt/pepper
HOW TO
Slice the bread, coat with olive oil or butter, and broil for a 2-4 minutes while watching very carefully. You want it warmed and just starting to get browned around the edges.
Remove the bread from the oven and top with sliced brie cheese and then sliced apple. Broil again for another few minutes until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and top with a drizzle of hot honey followed by herbs and/or candied nuts. Top with a crack of fresh salt and pepper to taste.
