Do We Drink Alcohol?
The simple answer is - YES! Absolutely!
We believe it is 100% possible to drink and still maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you haven't realized by now, we love to have a good time! We don't consider ourselves heavy drinkers by any means but we definitely love to drink here and there.
One of the most popular DM's we get is “how often do you both drink?” and “do you have any tricks to not feel hungover the next day?” (HA! We wish!). Neither of us are huge fans of having just a casual beverage paired with a meal, especially during the work week. If anything, it just makes us feel sluggish and in all honesty, we'd rather savor the fun and alcoholic calories for the weekend when we can really enjoy it. We LOVE to let loose for vacations, special occasions (holidays, birthdays, etc.), and a fun weekend night! It’s not like were overly strict and refrain from drinking if it doesn’t fall into one of those categories - but just our personal preference.
When we do go out, these are a few tricks we like to follow to enjoy ourselves to the fullest and try to avoid a painful hangover:
Typically if we go out, we limit ourselves to 3-4 drinks and chug water in between to stay hydrated. Hot Tip: Liquid IV is a life saver! We drink one before going out and the next morning (we stock up on them at Whole Foods)
Sugary drinks obvi lead to more of a hangover but also have the tendency to upset your tummy, especially when it's mixed with alcohol. It's a lot of acid and tough for your tummy to digest. We love using sparkling water and/or fresh fruit juices - FYI healthy marg recipe is on our IGTV.
Like we said above, not huge fans of weekday drinking. If we drink on the weekends, we usually only pick one night to go HAM and make sure we workout that day + eat healthy.
A lot of times the most unhealthy part of drinking is the poor food choices you drunkenly make. Eat a sufficient, healthy meal before going out so you're not as hungry. BUT TBH, If you splurge and order a slice of pizza... it's not going to kill you ;)
We like to stock some healthy food in the fridge/pantry so when we roll out of bed the next day we aren’t tempted to Postmates our lazy asses a breakfast burrito. Much better to start the next day with a heathy, nutritious meal!
